This is in remembrance of my Great Grandfather, Horace Talbot. He was a husband and father of three young children who, like many others, did not have to go to war but chose instead to do so and ultimately sacrificed his life in doing so.

From all known accounts he was a brave an honourable man who carried out acts of great courage, recognised through the award of the Military Medal. He served throughout the war in various camapigns but unfortunately became a casualty, succumbing to the effects of gas poisoning which led to his death on the 21st October 1918 - three weeks prior to Armistice Day.

I am  both honoured and priveleged to state that I am the great grandson of Horace Talbot - I remember him.
