Samuel, I am pleased to be offered the opportunity to commmemorate the service of a fellow-member of the Lincolns, since I was a peacetime soldier in the Lincolns some 35 years after you. I am not aware of the circumstances of your death, but I am glad that your funeral was in your home town and not "in some foreign field". I salute you as a brave soldier who died in the service of his country. I hope that the Guard of Honour at your funeral fired the traditional salute to a fallen comrade. My sympathy to your widow and to other relatives who mourned your sacrifice. Rest in Peace. Harry.
