Albert, I am not aware of the precise circumstances of your death, but, as a former soldier in the 1st Lincolns myself, doing my National Service in 1950, I am pleased to be given this opportunity to salute you as a brave young soldier who lost his life in the service of his country. Wimereux, just north of Boulogne, was an important hospital centre so I rather suspect that you will have died from your wounds which the medics had not succeeded in curing rather than being killed on the field of battle. Since I do not know how long you were in hospital, I do not know exactly where your unit was when you were wounded.  Your funeral took place at Wimereux  Communal Cemetery, where 38 other members of our regiment were also buried. I trust that the Guard of Honour at your graveside fired the traditional salute to a fallen comrade. In addition to your gravestone at Wimereux, I also trust that you were commemorated on your home town war memorial. My sympathy to your father and other relatives who mourned your sacrifice.  Rest in Peace.  Harry.
