B E Punter could just be another name.....I do not know him....I do not know his family.

Bertram Punter died 9th October 1917...He died 98 years ago exactly yesterday as I write this.

He was a resident of Byfleet village, where I live today.   A wooden cross marking his death, was returned to St Mary's Church in Byfleet, among with others who gave their lives during The Great War.

These crosses hang on the walls of St Mary's, forever a poignant reminder to those who visit the church, of all those who lost their lives during this conflict.

Bertram was killed aged 19 but he will never be forgotten !!!
