I believe Edward was born in 1899, the youngest son of Thomas and Mary Blackburn of Dinting. Glossop.
I heard from a cousin of his, who used to lodge with his family whilst working in Glossop, of cousin Ned, who was killed in the closing weeks of the war aged about 18. Almost a century later, this young man had not been forgotten.
He has remained in our thoughts and will continue to do so.
