Son of Walter & Evangeline White of Upper Moutere, Nelson District, New Zealand.

Prior to enlistment for war service Charles White was a Farmer at Upper Moutere, Nelson District, South Island, New Zealand.

Charles White enlisted for war service on 27 March 1917 at Motueka, Tasman, Nelson District, South Island, New Zealand. His name had been drawn in the Military Services Act Ballot - # D20484 - which required him, by law, to enlist for war service. He was 22 years of age.

On 24 October 1918 Charles White entered military training camp at Tauherenikau (Featherston) Military Training Camp, Featherston, Wairarapa, North Island, New Zealand.

Charles White was posted as a Private with the New Zealand Training Unit, at Featherston Military Training Camp, Wairarapa, North Island, New Zealand.

Whilst at training camp, at Featherston, Private White became sick with influenza. He was admitted to the Featherston Military Hospital, at Featherston, Wairarapa, North Island, New Zealand.

On 9 November 1918 - 2 days before the Armistice that would end World War 1 - Private Charles White died of sickness (Broncho-Pneumonia following Influenza) - at Featherston Military Hospital, Wairarapa, North Island, New Zealand. He was 23 years of age.

Private Charles T. White is buried at his hometown - at the Waiwhero Cemetery, Ngatimoti, Tasman District, Nelson Region, South Island, New Zealand.

Private Charles T. White is also remembered on the Mapua District War Memorial (1914-1918) - at Mapua, Nelson District, South Island, New Zealand.
