Arthur Vials is one of two men, who died on the same day 15th September, during the Battle of the Somme - possibly at Flers-Courcelette, (the other one is Benjamin Cheney), commemorated on the Lubenham War Memorial, even though he came from Clipston, Northamptonshire. His eldest brother, Charles, lived in Lubenham on The Green and his sister-in-law Ada was the sister of another Lubenham man, Percy Goode, who died in September 1918, also commemorated on the Lubenham War Memorial. The names are also repeated in a memorial in All Saints Church, Lubenham, with Arthur Vials as a late addition..

Also remembered on the War Memorial in All SaintsChurch, Lubenham, but not in alphabetical order
