Peter was one of 14 children, 7 boys and 7 girls. Sarah, the youngest, was my Nana. She often spoke of Peter and his brother William who also lost his life. I wish I had asked more questions when I was younger about him as a person. All I know is that he lost his life and it broke Sarah's heart. I have spent today looking up Peter and William on the CWGC site and feel a little better now I know his resting place, Abberville in France. What would he have gone on to do? What family would he have had and what would they have grown to be? What a waste. I will make sure my grandchildren know all about him and what a sacrifice he made so we can live out lives in a free world.
