William was my mother's uncle. She recalled him being mentioned only once, as having died in the Great War. I set about researching his records, and through the CWGC I found his grave in Germany. We visited his grave and sat awhile to let him know he is not forgotten. He was visited by his 2 nieces, 2 great nieces and 1 great, great niece. Tragically, he made it through the war, only to die of Spanish flu in February 1919. He was our Uncle Bill. We will not forget him or his comrades and the sacrifice they made for us.

We will remember them.
