Private Francis Brogan, 30th Battalion, Machine Gun Corps ( Infantry ). He died of wounds in Belgium on 28th September 1918, aged 26. He was the son of Owen and Ann Brogan of Tweedmouth and is buried in Wulverghem-Lindenhoek Road Military Cemetery, Flanders, Belgium. He had originally enlisted in the Kings Own Scottish Borderers and had been torpedoed whilst on his way to join the Regiment in Palestine where they were in action against the Turks.
