It has been 100 years since the death of Private Robert Richardson. His descendants include engineers, firefighters, factory workers, miners, accountants, social workers, builders, call centre workers, doctors, clergy, training officers, shop workers, managers, midwives, sailors, emergency service workers, nurses, teachers, lawyers, writers and sportsmen,  Most of these professions were out of reach to a young man from turn of the century Gateshead. He would be proud of their accomplishments, proud of their values and proud of the way that they raise their families. Most of all he would be proud that they were good people, in the world that he fought to free.
