Daniel and his brother Edward (very possibly 11096) are believed to have joined up together in Dublin. No doubt to escape the grinding poverty, lack of employment and uncertainty of the times. They were remembered by their younger brother Thomas who proudly displayed their medals on the wall of his home for 60-odd years until his death in his eighties. Daniel and Edward were further remembered by their brother Thomas, who named his second and third sons Daniel and Edward respectively.
