Private Wallace Kerry enlisted voluntarily into the 1/5 territorial battalions of the Sherwood Foresters but was then attached or transferred to the 2nd Battalion. Initial enlistment was late September 1914. On 13 May 1915 the battalion was at Le Touquet, Belgium and at about 4.50 a.m. a German mine was exploded killing 4 men and wounding 20. Wallace was one of the unfortunate 4 to die. Wallace left a wife and two young sons back home in Nottingham. We are so proud of you Wallace and will never forget that you gave your life fighting for our Country. We talk about you to your Great Great Grand-children and they are equally moved and touched by all that you gave. Thank you
