Son of Percy and Louisa Jane Johnson of 2 St Barnabas Road, Cambridge, Alec was at Calius College Cambridge
Alec had one brother and three sisters Ethel, Enid, Oscar and Cynthia
Alec was still at school in1911 age 15
His father Percy passed away in March 1954 in Cambridge age 85
Alec left probate of £367 5s 1d to his father Percy who was an Art Dealer
Capt Alec Johnson was awarded the Military Cross for actions at Nurlu commanding ‘A’ Company on 5th September 1918
Capt Johnson is also remembered on a personnel plaque in the church of St Andrews at Chesterton, Cambridge which reads:- To the joyous memory of Captain Alec Johnson 1st Cambridgeshire Regt, who fell leading his men in action at Epehy France. Sept 18 1918 aged 22 years and also on the brass war memorial in the church. He is also commemorated on the war memorial by the church door
